My name is Maxwell Hewitt and I am a certified public accountant among many other things. I attended the University of Northern Colorado on a full-ride, football scholarship and graduated in December 2011 with my Bachelor's degree in accounting. I was voted a team captain by my teammates for my senior season; an honor that I still regard as one of my greatest. I spent my final semester at UNC as an assistant defensive coach for the football team. After graduation, I invested my time and effort in obtaining my CPA while working part-time as an accounting temp for Inspirato for 4 months. Upon completion of my CPA exams, I was hired by Grant Thornton, LLP in Denver, Colorado where I worked as an Audit associate for 2 years. In my time at Grant Thornton I worked across many different industry sectors including, food and beverage, construction and manufacturing, retail, and oil and gas, among others. Towards the end of my second year, I decided that I no longer desired to work in public accounting and left my job. Before leaving, I enrolled in a 3-month online course to obtain my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate with the objective of moving abroad to teach. I moved to Turin, Italy where I taught in a private school teaching English to business professionals. After 7 months in Italy, I moved to Costa Rica to attend Spanish classes at La Universidad Latina de Costa Rica. I spent 4 months in Costa Rica living with a local family and building my Spanish language skills. Upon completion of my program, I moved to Spain to teach English, travel, and continue to grow my Spanish proficiency. After leaving Spain and a six-month stint back in Denver on a second accounting contract with Inspirato, I decided to move back to Italy to teach English again and be closer to my girlfriend at the time. After 3 years between Rome and Sicily (I am decently proficient in Italian now!), my wife and I decided to move back to Denver and pursue better jobs. I spent the next 3 years as an accountant at ClearChoice Management Services and am currently the GM of the ClearChoice Northglenn Dental Implant Center.
