We're an independent PR consultancy with a focus on technology, B2B, B2C, commerce and personal finance.In my 20 years working as a journalist, my main rant against people working in PR was that the vast majority had never worked in senior editorial positions - if they'd worked as a journalist at all. Many simply didn't know how, why or when to pitch a story. As a journalist I worked at a range of media outlets including the BBC, Bloomberg Television, Associated Press, Sports News Television, News Ltd, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Sky News.I covered a variety of sectors - general news, sport and business / finance. I ran planning and news desks; booked guests; did TV and radio reporting and general producing duties (writing, researching, networking, etc); put live TV programs to air; sorted out satellite bookings; I even did make-up for (male) guests at Bloomberg! I have extensive experience in making key editorial decisions. I had to decide on central issues such as story angles and components as well as the allocation of resources.I have an in-depth knowledge of how the media works, the sorts of stories journalists are looking for and how to pitch them. I possess advanced writing skills and have developed solid working relationships with a wide range of journalists and bloggers.
