As a Sales Application Engineer at Chart, I design Brazed Aluminum Plate-Fin Heat Exchangers that supply the natural gas, air separation, and petrochemical industries. Using thermodynamic and fluid dynamic principles I am able to setup process flows based on our customers plants needs to then design the core blocks internal structure (flow length, fin profile, stack pattern, etc). Through an array of technological advancements made within chart I am able to design and optimize our heat exchangers to reduce unit cost and improve thermal performances for our customers.

For my senior capstone project I contracted with Milwaukee Tool as a Mechanical Engineer. During my year with Milwaukee Tool I developed a mathematical model for an Eddy Current Brake from scratch using Lenz's Law, moment of inertia equations for disk and rings, and fluid flow over a moving disk. Giving the math model specifications of torque, angular velocity, and a targeted inertia, the math model would produce a rotor diameter and thickness. I then modeled 3D parts and an assembly for the Eddy Current Brake in SOLIDWORKS. From these models I was able to send drawing files to the Rapid Prototype Team that met ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards. After assembling and documenting the process for future repeatability, I designed a testing procedure to characterize a 3D map of torque, angular velocity, and current for the Eddy Current Brake.

As an Equipment Engineering Intern at Silgan Containers, I redesigned a cupping die assembly for domestic manufacturing. I utilized a coordinate measuring machine to reverse engineer over 20 machine components and modeled them in Autodesk Inventor, creating drawing files with proper GD&T to ASME Y14.5 standards. Designed a program for Autodesk Inventor to automate pallet building given variable inputs such as can size, number of layers, and number of cans. Conducted research and a technical report for different bead patterns on cans that the company produced. Using Autodesk Inventor I ran finite element analysis of the patterns to recommend the best pattern for nominal and axial loading.

As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at Hydro-Thermal Corporation, I coded dozens of programs in MASTERCAM for the CNC mills and lathes to manufacture stem plugs, steam nozzles, steam control valves, and combination tubes for direct steam injection heat exchangers. I also designed tool models from physical tools, using SOLIDWORKS, for collision prevention in MASTERCAM programs. During my time as an intern I collaborated in a group of five interns to develop a sanitary pump skid.
