I’m a passionate and skilled chemist with a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor’s degree from Albany State University. My journey in chemistry has been shaped by a deep curiosity for how things work at the molecular level, particularly in the realm of polymers and materials science. At the UGA New Materials Institute, where I’ve been a Graduate Research Assistant, I’ve had the exciting opportunity to lead research projects focused on pharmaceutical formulations and the synthesis of biodegradable materials. My work involves creating novel materials, analyzing their efficacy, and developing structure-activity relationships in complex systems. I thrive on using theory and mechanisms to drive inquiry and innovation, particularly in polymerization techniques like polyurethane and polyester synthesis. Before diving into graduate research, I gained hands-on industry experience as a Purification Chemist at Ambiopharm Inc., working in a cGMP environment to ensure the highest standards in peptide purification. This role sharpened my analytical skills and deepened my understanding of product development and formulation, especially in aligning manufacturing practices with FDA guidelines.Beyond the lab, I’m committed to sustainability. Since 2017, I’ve volunteered as a Sustainability Consultant with Ecosneakers Inc., where I’ve applied my critical thinking skills to create cost-efficient recycling methods and promote environmental health on a large scale. With a solid foundation in both the theoretical and practical aspects of chemistry, complemented by a certification in Intellectual Property and Law Policy from the Carey School of Law at the University of Pennsylvania, I’m always eager to push the boundaries of what’s possible. Whether it’s through cutting-edge research, innovative product development, or sustainable practices, I’m driven by the desire to make a meaningful impact.Let’s connect and explore how we can collaborate to advance the field of chemistry and contribute to a more sustainable future!
