Maxwell Seckler is a Associate; Capital and Partner Solutions - Private Wealth at Vista Equity Partners. Colleagues describe him as "As a student in my Entrepreneurship Theme Capstone course at the University of Vermont's Grossman School of Business, I very much enjoyed being Max's teacher. He was a very engaging student and participated actively in classroom discussions. In our class, he and his team developed an idea for a new business venture called StrEats, a local food and restaurant recommendation platform. More importantly, he and his team had the courage and the fire-in-the-belly to pitch their innovative and well-researched idea as one of eleven finalist teams at our university's annual business pitch competition: https://www.uvm.edu/business/news/pitch-goes-virtual" and "Max joined our team as a summer intern in 2018; we were about to launch the Workday Recruiting module across 63 countries. Together with our two other interns and the project team, Max took the lead to create all of our training material for end-users (HRs, managers, employees and candidates). He quickly understood the core business process in Workday and then set about writing user guides and one pagers. He recorded training videos even going so far as to MacGyver support stands for his equipment to ensure that filming the mobile/tablet versions would work well. He hosted training sessions for our hiring managers and managed their Q&A. Three years later, his training material is still used at Ferring! He also set a new benchmark for in-depth, step-by-step guides and innovated a new use of videos and tablet/mobile perspectives. Throughout his internship, Max had to connect with project team members dispersed all over the world; he showed maturity and cultural sensitivity in his interactions; and was diligent to follow up on actions he volunteered to take care of. Courteous, friendly and punctual, Max was a pleasure to work with. He learned things quickly (including complex nuances about recruitment at a global company), he sought out feedback on a regular basis and digested it quickly; he showed a willingness to help his peers and to learn from his seniors.
