I'm an academic doctor working in Glasgow (UK) with significant experience in clinical research and education. My work began with my own experience of illness: I was diagnosed with testicular cancer aged 15, requiring three months of chemotherapy and multiple operations. Now thankfully in remission, I work as an academic doctor, researcher and advocate for other young people with cancer.My primary interests are in Oncology, Critical Care and medical ethics. I graduated MB BCh from the University of Oxford with Distinction, having been President of the William Sweet Graduate Entry Medicine Society, after graduating with a 1st Class BSc in Biomedical Sciences from University College London.I have a broad research portfolio with involvement in publications ranging from regulatory policy in clinical trials (Williamson M et al. J Clin Onc. 2023) to cell biology (Matthews HK, et al. Dev Cell. 2020). My research interest is now primarily focussed on the intersection of haematology & oncology with critical care medicine.Prior to this, I volunteered as a patient advocate across the UK and Europe. I am co-chair of the ACCELERATE FAIR trials group, and I sit on multiple international clinical trial management groups in germ cell tumours as a patient advocate. I am working toward a career in academic medicine, in particular in critical care, and I am always keen to collaborate with academic and industry partners in my research and advocacy.
