I assist with the daily operations of one of Cornell’s archival collections, building a robust understanding of fashion history, trends, and structural evolution. Leveraging my knowledge of fiber configuration, fabric design, and manufacturing history, I meticulously accession and catalog archival pieces, paying close attention to detail. This process often involves photography, and at times, garments require reinforcement or restoration, a skill I have developed with growing proficiency.Additionally, I contribute to curatorial processes, collaborating on the ideation and execution of rotating exhibitions that highlight the diverse narratives and research fashion can reveal. Once exhibitions conclude, I help document them for posterity by creating website landing pages with in-depth descriptions and virtual tours, offering an immersive experience for a broader audience.I also support the educational mission of the collection by selecting pieces for class instruction and leading guided tours for students, faculty, alumni, and the greater Ithaca community. Through these efforts, I help bridge the past and present, showcasing the enduring stories fashion can tell.

I contributed to growth strategy, assortment planning, and sell-through analysis for The Row's newly launched retail doors using Microsoft PowerPoint and Joor software. By synthesizing buying and sales plans, I developed class recaps, lookbooks, and line sheets with Microsoft Excel to streamline merchandising decisions. I tracked inventory, created styles, and generated selling reports for consignment and third-party retailers using RLM and Teamwork programs, ensuring data accuracy and operational efficiency. Collaborating closely with omni-channel and wholesale teams, I consulted on visual merchandising strategy to enhance brand consistency. Additionally, I worked directly with VIC consumers, managing and documenting purchase orders for the Spring 2025 season, ensuring a seamless client experience.

With guidance from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) mentors and project management support from Extern, I integrated my passion for nonprofit work and social impact by consulting for a small business targeting food-insecure populations in Massachusetts. Collaborating with Friends of Holly Hill Farm (FHHF), I conducted a comprehensive competitive analysis, benchmarking them against other small farms to identify their strategic position.Based on these insights, I recommended strategies to enhance their community-building and education programs while proposing initiatives in renewable energy, sustainable practices, and regenerative agriculture to improve crop yields. To further support their mission of reducing food insecurity across the greater Boston area, I suggested targeted media and marketing tactics to strengthen their business model and drive top-line growth without compromising their core values. This experience deepened my understanding of nonprofit financial and growth strategies, and I am eager to apply these skills across industries.

Selected due to exceptional performance in the course FSAD 1250: Fashion, Art, and Design Thinking, instructed by Dr. Denise Nicole Green at Cornell University. Per the syllabus, course lectures "consider the social, cultural, political, aesthetic, scientific, economic, and historical aspects of fashion design, visual expression, and everyday embodied dressing."As a teaching assistant, I took on a range of responsibilities, including grading assignments, attending weekly meetings, curating supplemental class materials, leading mini-lectures, facilitating class activities, and holding office hours to provide student support. I also contributed to various operational tasks to ensure the course ran smoothly. This role allowed me to give back to my academic community in a meaningful way, fostering an environment of growth and collaboration.

Made By Maya is a North Texas-based small business operating on a project commission basis, collaborating closely with individual and community clients. Specializing in sustainably crafted custom dresses for formal events, I also create event decor, holiday gifts, custom paintings, and personalized jewelry, tailoring each piece to my clients' unique needs.In partnership with the Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center, I co-organized and produced an upcycled fashion show featuring designs from women who benefited from the center's resources, highlighting resilience and creativity. Driven by my passion for social impact, I donated 25% of my profits to Choose Mental Health, an organization dedicated to destigmatizing mental health awareness and treatment for young children across the United States. Another 25% was contributed to the Innocence Project, supporting criminal justice reform. This decision stemmed from the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, inspiring me to use my skills and business to serve a greater cause and give back to my community.
