Maya Barnhart is a paralegal advocate in the Veteran Legal Services Unit. She has a passion for providing legal support and assistance to many of our veteran clients. With 2 years of experience in the legal field, she brings ambition and understanding to the challenges veteran clients often face.She is responsible for conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and assisting with case preparation. As well as managing case files, and providing crucial support to the attorneys she works with. Committed to ongoing professional development, Maya is also a certified North Carolina Notary Public. She has long term aspirations to continue her educational journey and get her TEFL teaching certificate so that she will have the opportunity to teach English abroad and eventually she aims to go to law school. Outside of her professional endeavors, Maya enjoys volunteering in the community, enjoying live music, and taking hikes in nature.Maya attended UNC Asheville and graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and minored in Human Rights. She completed her paralegal course through the PACE program at Gardner Webb University and received her Paralegal Certificate in 2022. Lastly Maya received her NC Notary Public Certificate in 2023 and is now a public officer in the state of North Carolina.Dedicated, resourceful, and client-focused, Maya is an integral member of the Veteran Legal Services team at Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy and is committed to delivering excellence in all she does.
