Dr. Maya A. Beasley is the Founder and President of the T10 Group, an ESG, impact, and DEI consulting firm serving investors and corporations. A sociologist by training, Dr. Beasley is a research professor at the University of Maryland, College Park. She worked as a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Connecticut for eight years, serving on the Board of Advisors for the Africana Studies Institute. She earned her A.B. in sociology from Harvard University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in sociology from Stanford University. Her first book, Opting Out: Why America is Losing out on Its Young Black Elite, was published in November 2011 to rave reviews. She is currently finishing her second book, The Social Portfolio, which examines the occupational portfolios of female and minority professionals in contemporary American society.Dr. Beasley has consulted on a variety of issues in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. She has provided frequent interviews and opinion pieces for various outlets, including Huffington Live, The Baltimore Sun, Diverse Issues in Higher Education, The Wall Street Journal, and USA Today.
