I am a Researcher and Speech-Language Pathologist (literacy focus) with Masters level qualifications in Public Health and Speech Pathology. I am passionate about improving health and education outcomes for disadvantaged communities. My research to date has focused on improving child development, child language, and learning outcomes for vulnerable populations. I have led and contributed to numerous academic articles and publications featuring these topics. My career has been centred around project management (corporate and research) in the tertiary education sector. I have gained international community development experience in India, Nepal and Mexico where I had the opportunity to collaborate with community development teams, educators and government partners on projects focused on improving health and educational development outcomes for children. Domestically, I have also developed and led a literacy promotion program for Queensland’s Department of Education.
