Leading a team of seven Radiation therapists, over two Siemens CT scanners and a mould room. Taking on research and projects, including the introduction of Encompass masks for SRS, and the MASTERPLAN trial for Pancreas SBRT

Working as a Radiation Therapist at New Zealand's largest Radiotherapy department, I have had exposure to a variety of patients, sites and techniques. It is in this busy department, that I have developed my skills to ensure work is done in the most time efficient manner. I have used Siemens CT Scanners (with Sentinel SGRT) and treated patients using both Varian iX Linacs and Elekta Versa HD Linacs (with Hexapod couch and Catalyst SGRT system). I am trained in techniques including: Total Body Irradiation, SABR Spine, SABR Lung (with and without 4DCT), Breasts with DIBH, Fast-Forward trial Breasts and PACE-C trial Prostate. I work closely with paediatric patients and have the skill set to be the Radiation Therapist On-Call (for Category A/urgent patients).I have spent over half of my ADHB career in the Dosimetry department, where I have thoroughly enjoyed problem solving and expanding my knowledge in planning. I have been trained to use Raystation and Pinnacle as treatment planning systems. I can create conformal radiation plans using a variety of techniques including 3DCRT, IMRT and VMAT. I have aided in the transition and implementation from IMRT Lung to VMAT Lung planning, and I a member of the department's Lung Focus Group. I am currently heading a pilot study of Implementing UV Ink Tattoos in the department, instead of our standard black ink tattoos. This project is exploring the cultural and psychosocial implications tattoos can impose on our patients.

In my position as New Graduate Radiation Therapist, I was rotated through all areas of the CDHB Department. This is where I became profficient at using Elekta Linear Accelerators, Mosaiq, Monaco Planning System and Siemans CT Scanners. At the largest Radiation Therapy centre in New Zealand's South Island, I was able to develop my clinical skills over a broad range of sites and techniques. I worked with palliative patients, paediatric patients, used techniques including image-guided RT, SABR Lung (with 4DCBCT), and implimented a new protocol to aid with imaging matching.
