Creative, outgoing, and adaptable with an international background and diverse skill set! I recently received my (Scottish) MA from the University of Edinburgh in English Literature with a focus in Queer + Gender Theory. Throughout my time at university, I gained substantial skills in persuasive academic and creative research-based writing. My work-ethic and multitasking capacities were also further developed; I was apart of several societies, maintained multiple jobs and volunteered while producing award-winning collaborative creative projects. I managed to do all of this with no consequence to my degree; I was awarded upper second-class honors for both my entire degree and for my final year dissertation on the contemporary significance of the queer experience of the AIDS epidemic during the 80’s and 90’s. It was during my time at university that I received my certification in makeup artistry through the Make Up For Ever Academy in Manhattan. I have always been passionate about the transformative power of makeup and wanted to use my skill set to volunteer for the charity, Look Good Feel Better. As a volunteer makeup artist, I taught countless women living with cancer personalized skin-care and makeup regimes; giving them agency over their appearance and the skills to once again look and feel like themselves. I also have over 7 years of fashion apparel and retail experience. Having worked for companies like Brandy Melville, Jack Wills, and Urban Outfitters, I have a strong understanding of differing customer demographics and various marketing and branding necessities depending on the company. During my time in apparel retail I assisted in visual merchandising as well as content creating, editing and writing for social media outlets (Instagram, Facebook). Having recently moved back to the US, I’m currently in the process of relocating to Philadelphia in hopes of finding opportunities where my interests and skills intersect and could be of use!
