I'm a B.S. Mechanical Engineering Honors student at MSOE with hands-on, team-based engineering project experience. I devote 5 hours per week to community involvement and currently work part-time with a full academic load. I'm also a Girl Scout volunteering with STEM programming for younger scouts. I have skills in SOLIDWORKS, MATLAB, and MS Office Excel. I am seeking a Summer 2024 internship position. I took PLTW classes throughout high school that helped solidify my decision to study engineering. I enjoyed problem-solving with a team in those classes along with creating solutions to a number of problems. Since being in MSOE, I’m more sure than ever that this field is where I belong and I enjoy the challenges presented in my technical classes.I worked in a team of two to complete a design project aimed to develop a residential water reclamation system. The system’s goal was to re-purpose used sink water to flush a toilet. This project gave me a lot of experience in throwing away ideas I initially really liked and starting over from scratch to create better ideas, along with considering the community our project affected and consulting experts.I am a part of Girl Scouts and volunteered to create STEM programming for my district’s summer camp. Through this, I have gained experience mentoring younger leaders and expanded my creativity. Additionally, being on multiple leadership boards throughout high school taught me to be assertive with my peers and lead group activities.Through my project and volunteer experience, I’ve developed strong teamwork, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. I’m eager to transfer these skills to a professional setting and start helping to solve problems.
