IDEA Public schools is the 2016 recipient of the Broad Prize as recognition for the Best charter school in the nation. Founding member of the administrative lead team in a school serving over 350 students from 94% socially disadvantaged backgrounds. Supports teachers by providing resources and tools to accommodate students with learning differences, physical impairments, or behavioral problems on a daily basis. Testing coordinator for entire school,grades 6th - 8th grades . English Language Learner coordinator, At risk youth point of contact and oversees all initiatives to drive persistence at specific campus. Manages Direct instruction teachers and coordinates improvement through national partner for implementation of curriculum program. Works closely with scholars to develop social emotional skills, organizational skills and ensures they remain on the path to college.

1 of initial staff members to establish new system of delivering workshops of Transition GPS workshops at satellite locations. Conducts workshops over the period of 3 days focusing on job search skills, interview preparation as well as helping to develop master and target resumes. The goal is to help military service members leaving the military to feel prepared, confident and excited about entering the job force after the time they have spent in the military. Delivered 100% of workshops assigned by senior leadership. Briefed groups of adult learners ranging in size from 35-100 at one time over the course of 3 days with stellar reviews from workshop participants and staff members. Educated all participants on Department of Labor curriculum with creative extension activities to promote and encourage learning. Functioned as intermediary communication between site staff members and office staff for consultant company.

Worked as a collobrative teacher to help develop lesson plans and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of children. Developed 5 goals for each child on a monthly basis and maintained detailed progress reports on each childs progression to goals. Created, implemented and maintained learning books as set forth by administration. Learning books are individual representations for each student to demonstrate progress towards goals on a monthly basis comprised from academic and social based assessments. Trained additional staff members as necessary and also established parent training to assist parents as needed. Briefed parents on a daily basis on their students daily progress.

As Lead teacher established lesson plans based off of the Abeka curriculum set in place by administration. Devised Lesson plans on a monthly basis for daily activities which included Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies as well as Chapel on quarterly basis. Consulted with administration as needed regarding student performance, parental interaction or concerns as well as any other support required. Maintained a flexible schedule to accommodate needs of school.

Piloted a new program as the Junior Kindergarten lead teacher to develop lesson plans inculding social, academic and physical growth for all students to young to meet the district requirement to enter kindergarten. 90% of students in class that applied to private school were accepted for private school admittance. Enhanced student learning by organizing monthly field trips and speakers based on thematic learning of the month. Charted student learning by creating learning portfolios to demonstrate student work. Also maintained electronic portfolios with photo evidence of the student's growth over the course of the school year. Supervised one additional staff member and acted as a mentor teacher for numerous additional teachers. Coordinated with additional campuses to create thematic plans resulting in improved productivity and concise curriculum standards across 3 campuses on Oahu.

Worked as a one to one aid for students with special needs. Worked with students with diagnois of autism, mental retardation, schizophrenia, Rhett's syndrome as well as Down Syndrome. Students ranged in age from 2-21 years old. Promoted progress towards goals by working in cohesion with school and treatment staff. Wrote daily progress notes to inform staff how progress was supervised. Coordinated with office staff by maintaining office hours to help schedule clients and any other office hours as needed. Accomplished 100% rate of completion of all clients assigned.
