I’m a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Science and Engineering in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Princeton University. My education has provided me with fundamental engineering principles as well as numerous opportunities for multidisciplinary experience. > I participated in the Princeton Engineers Without Borders, Kenya Team for four years. My freshman year, I served as technical team lead and travel team member, helping to develop and implement a solar-power water distribution system at a primary school in Southwest Kenya. I served as project manager from 2020-2021, overseeing a remote implementation of another water distribution project and developing a health resource and education program to further support our partners during the pandemic.> My freshman summer, I also conducted an independent research project through the Princeton Latin American Studies department, interviewing the residents of Belize’s Corozal district on their experiences with local changes in the environment. > I wrote my senior thesis, investigating the time scale of coastal flood risk reduction and carbon sequestration for restored mangrove forests through computational modeling. I projected the future of the pilot restoration project in Corozal, Belize for my case study. My research has taught me the vital importance of stakeholder relationships in environmental and engineering projects.I am currently serving as a Princeton in Africa Fellow, working at Rwamagana Leaders' School, in the Eastern Province of Rwanda. The position is teaching me about the value of education, reframing my understanding of sustainability and impact, and leading me to dream about new possible futures–for myself and the planet.
