About Maya Netto

Hi all! My name is Maya Netto and I am a Pre-Medical Student a part of the Burnett Honors College at the University of Central Florida, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Biomedical Sciences. I am passionate about executing a more holistic approach to modern medical treatments that involves utilizing Western medical practices while attending to the entire well-being of the patients. I have involved myself in a plethora of diverse experiences within and outside my university that have and will continue to build me into a more well-rounded individual with a heart for leadership, service, health, and innovation.I hope to not only build a community of aspiring and current medical professionals but also one with individuals from many disciplines to support and learn from all bright minds and perspectives!

In high-school, I organized mass-scale donation drives to collect art supplies to donate to facilities such as the Ronald McDonald House, Easterseals, The Lotus House, and Branches Fl. In addition to donating thousands of dollars worth of art supplies to these locations, I also created a website with step-by-step instructions for unique art projects to be done with the donated supplies. The hope in providing these art supplies and lessons to these children in need is that they will be able to find an escape from their difficult life circumstances through the proven therapeutic nature of art.Now at the collegiate level, I am in the process of making this project into a registered student organization to take its level of impact to the next level.
