What drives me is when a student with learning differences shows you that they get it. The moment that the tool they needed worked perfectly or the scaffolding was all that was missing for them to achieve the most beautiful result. Whether it be teaching virtually in a class full of high school students or being a social-emotional support and teacher's assistant to a classroom full of middle schoolers, I love to work with students of all ages to help them demonstrate the knowledge they bring to the classroom. I am passionate about equity-driven, culturally responsive, learner-centered classrooms and curricula. In particular, I am passionate about creating meaningful and equitable support for Latine students with learning differences. The impetus to create more diversity in educational psychology has driven my experience as a Psychology and Education Major and an African American Studies minor. My time at Wesleyan has given me the opportunity to work with amazing partner organizations to bring Wesleyan's resources to Title I schools across the country. After my time at Wesleyan, I plan on pursuing my master's degree and PhD in Educational Psychology. My goal is to help students identify their learning differences and gain access to meaningful accommodations through Neuropsychological evaluations.
