Within the Genetics Department at the Helen F. Graham Center & Research Institute, part of ChristianaCare, I play a role in supporting the operations. My responsibilities include:-Performing diverse administrative and clerical tasks to ensure efficient patient care-Preparing patient charts, encompassing tasks such as creating pedigrees, obtaining medical records, organizing medical information, and managing patient forms-Updating patient charts following the initial consultation, which involves pedigree updates and the calculation and input of risk assessment scores-Procuring genetic test kits for genetic counselors after initial appointment -Efficiently inputting genetic results -Coordinating the secure transfer of patient documents after obtaining the medical release record forms-Actively engaging with patients and their families, providing appointment reminders, ensuring timely receipt of forms/links for completion before appointments, and gathering potential genetic results of patients or relatives-Mentoring students who are interested in genetic counseling by providing guidance on case preparation and assisting in updating cases after initial appointment
