Served as the Growth Management Services team supervisor and supervised a team of 4 employees who work on complex long-range planning issues like land use and rezoning amendments, policy amendments, and other special assignments as directed by changes in state law, management and elected officials related to water rights, economic development, industrial development, resource management, and more. In this position I have managed two state-mandated periodic comprehensive plan updates within specific budgetary guidelines, including a team of several planning professionals, subject matter experts across county and jurisdictional departments, and consultants.

Worked collaboratively as part of a team and with neighboring jurisdictions, Tribes, and Joint Base Lewis-McChord on complex projects including the Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update, ensuring consistency and compliance with state Growth Management Act (GMA), with a focus on natural resources (commercial forestry, mining, and agriculture) and environment policies. Prepared environmental decision documents for long-range planning non-projects under supervision, consistent with the Washington State Environmental Policy Act.Worked with a broad and diverse range of stakeholders to develop policy and regulation updates. This included creating and managing community stakeholder groups over the life of a project. Created and brought to adoption policy and development regulation amendments with specific regulatory controls based on federal, state, local, tribal, and community stakeholder feedback.Collected research, analyzed, and prepared data, developed reports, and presented information and recommendations on complex planning issues to a wide audience including citizens, regulatory agencies, and elected officials.

Worked collaboratively as part of a team with other state agencies to independently run ArcGIS processes, develop maps, and analyze data of over 4,000 data points using Microsoft Excel.Developed a protocol for use of the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife's High Resolution Change Detection program on how to cross reference data points with the local county permit database for use in adaptive monitoring and environmental compliance. Minor portion of time spent on conservation planning and land use planning projects, and public engagement.
