After having children, I realized I wanted more time and flexibility to be a mother yet didn’t want to completely walk away from my professional life. I started my own company as an independent contractor to give myself this flexibility. This has been a great opportunity to gain experience with new projects while balancing time with my children while they are young.Much of my recent work has focused on content creation:- Researching and identifying candidates for case studies and user stories and working with customers to create content for use on websites and promoted through email and social media campaigns.- Working with product management and Sector Marketing to providing expert editing, review and final polishing of a variety of collaterals from brochures to webpages, posters and infographics- Offering a sounding board for overarching messaging and tag lines- Providing support for global product launches

I was promoted to lead North American Marcom after repeatedly giving unsolicited (yet well-received) feedback to the Marketing and Product Management VP. When he was promoted and transferred to Germany, he challenged me if I could do any better.In response, I transformed lead generation in the department through strengthened digital and email marketing as well as improving customer experiences at trade shows and events. I introduced KPIs to the department necessary for ROI transparency and measuring the team’s efforts and budget investment.In this role, I have:-Partnered with Global Market Sectors in our German headquarters to develop and deploy multi-prong lead generation and prospect nurturing strategies to clients in the North American Life Sciences, Materials Sciences, Industrial QA/QC and Education markets.-Spearheaded adoption of digital technologies in North America, including introduction and deployment of Marketo, lead generation through Google Adwords, and sale of products through Amazon.-Established a new level of ZEISS brand consistency to North America, becoming recognized as a gold standard by executive leadership for premiere events and trade shows.-Built, trained and mentored a team of Marketing specialists recognized for high quality, timely execution of multiple, overlapping projects.

I dove into my first job at ZEISS, quickly became a go-to technical resource for both our field team of Sales specialists as well as our clients. As a key demo specialist for North America, I was instrumental in the launch of the next generation of confocal microscopes as well as the first ZEISS superresolution microscopes in a highly competitive environment. By supporting efforts at major trade shows and events as well as offering feedback on technical writing and campaign strategies, I became a sought after resource for the Marketing team - laying the groundwork for my eventual shift to managing that department.
