As cofounder & COO, Maya oversees the day to day operations of the business including teacher experience, customer experience, operations & strategy as well as corporate communications, marketing and sales.Hoot Reading (www.hootreading.com) is an online tutoring service that connects kids with experienced, hand selected teachers to practice reading over video chat. The technology, which allows for shared reading at a distance, was incubated in a research project at Sesame Workshop (Sesame Street). Hoot Reading was born out of the leading children’s video chat company, Kindoma, whose Apps have been featured by Apple in over 150 countries worldwide and have garnered national acclaim, including winning the prestigious Parents Choice Gold Award.

Reporting to the Founder & COO, Maya oversees strategic corporate initiatives related to recruitment, human resources, training & development, IT & corporate communications. Maya focused on leading cross-functional teams with senior executive participation in pursuit of the company’s strategic operational objectives.

Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, Maya leads the company’s Marketing function and Social Media division of 24-7 Intouch. Since joining the company in 2004, Maya has held several positions within the Marketing function and has helped develop strategies and process to manage the company brand, communications, demand generation and meet revenue targets.As the leader of the Social Media division of 24-7 Intouch since 2011, Maya is responsible for the overall success, operations and growth of this channel offering. In this role, Maya provides clients expertise in social media marketing, social technologies, social agent training and certification, response best practices, KPI measurement, and the strategic integration of social media into current customer care operations.

Directs and oversees the company’s Marketing initiatives and SMB Sales Team, leads departmental strategy and business planning processes, and supports the CEO in development and implementation of acquisitions and other non-organic growth strategies.

As the Vice President of Social Herd, Maya is oversees the Social Media Management company of 24-7 Intouch. Social Herd provides monitoring with integrated case & knowledge management, moderation of public and private communities and engagement strategies built on response best practices and social governance. Maya joined 24-7 Intouch in 2004 leading the 24-7 Intouch’s marketing team and holding additional responsibilities of sales management and supporting company growth initiatives with the CEO. As the leader for Social Herd, Maya provides expertise in social media technologies, social agent training & certification, response best practices, KPI measurement and enabling businesses to integrate social media into their current customer care operations.
