After graduating from Northwestern University in 2004, I built a career as an audio engineer, film sound editor, and voice acting coach. Engineering and producing at two Chicagoland recording studios and freelancing on the side, I developed serious audio editing chops, a sharp sense of how to pull a performance out of talent, and a great ear for how to get a message across to your audience. In 2011, I switched careers to become a copywriter. Now, I'm the Content Manager for Mbira Technologies, the parent company of music gear e-retail site zZounds.com. For zZounds, I write and edit copy that engages our customer base of musicians and audio professionals: buying guides, product descriptions, landing pages, email campaigns, blog posts and more. I nerd out about audio recording gear, musical instruments, and punctuation. I'm the curator of zZounds' brand voice. I'm also the actual recorded voice you hear when you call 1.800.ZZOUNDS -- at least for the handful of seconds it takes for one of our customer service guys to grab your phone call.I'm a pro at:- Writing and editing for the web- Merchandising musical instruments and audio gear- Coaching voiceover talent- Audio production- Seeing the details that inform the big pictureFor fun, I make music!
