Dr. Maya Matheis is a clinical psychologist who specializes in autism spectrum disorder. She is currently the Associate Director of the University of Hawaii's Center on Disability Studies. She holds a PhD in clinical psychology from Louisiana State University and an MSW with a specialization in child mental health from the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Matheis completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Collaborative START Lab at the UC Davis MIND Institute, where her research focused on implementation science and community-based services for autism. Clinically, she specializes in neurodevelopmental assessment, interventions for autism, parent-mediated interventions (e.g., PCIT, Project ImPACT), and cognitive behavioral therapy for children and adolescents.
