As an individual with a rather unique skill set, I have carved out a career for myself first by doing and then by teaching, thereby passing on my knowledge to others. Originally, I worked as a marketing communications professional covering the Middle East region for a number of well-known confectionery brands such as Snickers, Bounty, Maltesers, Skittles and M&M’s.Following my success in this arena, along with the completion of a Master’s, I was able to consolidate my experience and learning by turning towards university lecturing. My students have been able to benefit from my knowledge from practice along with my academic slant. I believe this gives me the edge over “pure” academics.Innovation and introducing new ways of working and teaching come naturally to me. As part of a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education, I conducted a study concerning a novel teaching model in the form of flipped learning methodology for postgraduate students. My research showed positive results such as: increased satisfaction with learning, greater knowledge retention and greater academic success among the participants. I have a natural affinity for empowering students, whether they are young undergraduates or more seasoned MBA delegates. I find it very rewarding to hear about the fruits of my labour in the form of international prestige and success for these future leaders.

Many students require this refresher class to brush up on their academic skills as it may have been some time since their undergratuate studies or they may not have grasped the concepts sufficiently. Also, as the year progresses, I coach students on completing their assignments, which can cause them considerable stress. As part of the executive programme, I invite guest speakers who are experts in their fields and/or business people.
