File to File and File to Table testing used to be done using Python Automation Frameworks, and Table to Table to testing used to be done using complex SQL Scripts. For E2E Testing, Python Scripts are built that used to perform every layer of testing File-File-Table-Table testing. For realtime, the testing was performed manually and/or using some python utilities. The Bonus program application was written in PL/SQL in order to filter records and store in RDBMS and calculation of bonuses was written in Callidus TrueComp tool.The RAW data was in flat file generated by ETL tool Abinitio, stored in RedHat servers. Shell jobs were written to read those files at specific time and calls PL/SQL or SQL module to load data in RDMS. I was responsible for Test Planning : - Test Execution Approach, Cycle Plan, Test Scenarios and Test Cases. Get these documents reviewed and approved by Client. The approach for writing test cases is such that we need to mention each and every Oracle Tables' attribute values in the test cases itself based on the scenario and match it against the table when execution is done. Test execution was done manually initially and using SQL. Later, when i was able to play with the application I used to perform testing using SQL scripts and them automated it using excel Macros by writing all the mathematical business logic defined in Callidus TrueComp in excel using formulas which on supplying input values to defined cells provides you the outcome and compare it automatically against DB for every valid agents.
