-- Part of the EMEA consumer team. I lead the research and advisors’ interaction on the European Consumer space.-- Responsible for researching companies, industries, and themes, and generating actionable content to be put on Guidepoint Insights platform.

I worked in FIL for seven years. I was part of the global consumer team covering Europe and US consumer discretionary space along with London based analysts. Focus included European and US Luxury, Sports, and Apparel retail brands. The sectors were of significant importance due to PMs' interest and FIL holdings; hence the role was challenging and filled with learning at the same time.Roles and Responsibilities:-- Create and maintain detailed financial models for companies under coverage and interest-- Create and maintain industry datasets to provide actionable top down insights-- Work with alternative data (credit card transactions, geolocation, social media, app data etc) to supplement and test bottom up research hypothesis-- Work with analysts to fine-tune investment pitches for PMs' consumption-- Analyze and track ESG credentials of the company and contribute to FIL proprietary ESG ratingsIn FIL, I honed my stock picking skills further and learnt to focus on factors that impact stock performance while minimizing the distractions and unnecessary information. I also learnt how to contrast companies' financial performance to their sustainability credentials as ESG becomes an important criteria for consumers and investors alike.

DRA Investments is a part of DRA Homes, a prominent real estate player in Bengaluru and Chennai. I worked directly with one of the group's directors, Mr Dharmesh Ranka, to invest group's treasury money into Indian stock market.Roles and Responsibilities:-- Help set up the investment philosophy of DRA investments in line with expectations of the promoters.-- Generate actionable investment ideas to diversify group's investment portfolio.-- Maintain the investment portfolio by tracking key events and keep management abreast of latest relevant happenings.I learnt a substantial deal about Indian stocks during my time in DRA investments.

I joined Amba Research (presently Acuity Knowledge Partners) from IMT Ghaziabad. In Amba, I worked across two projects with senior analysts covering Metal & Mining sector (India and China), and Aviation sector (Europe).Roles and responsibilities included:-- Building and maintaining detailed financial models for the companies under coverage and interest.-- Industry analysis, creation and maintenance of relevant datasets, summarising daily news flow.-- Contributing to research reports, marketing presentations, and client requests.During my time at Amba research, I learnt the ropes of equity research and created a strong foundation of financial modelling and investment report writing. I was promoted to AVP before time due to my strong performance.

Teracom Ltd is a telecom equipment and parts manufacturing company. As part of my MBA program, I interned at its finance department during summer of 2011. My project was under the guidance of Mr Anuj Nagar, Deputy General Manager, Finance & Accounts. The project involved:-- Analysing the working capital management practices of the company and comparing them with national and international peers.-- Suggesting actionable changes to improve its Balance Sheet health.My efforts were appreciated by the management and I was awarded a CGPA of 9/10 by the presiding IMT faculty for the internship project.
