I am The Independent’s Women’s Correspondent - the only such job title at a UK news outlet. I write news stories, features and investigations covering issues from a women’s angle – with a particular focus on human rights, sexual violence, domestic abuse, abortion, health, childcare, sex work, poverty, the criminal justice system and more. I am also the author of The Pocket Guide to the Patriarchy - a 22-chapter book published in August 2023 which explores the aforementioned issues and much more.Before starting the role as Women's Correspondent, I worked as a general news reporter at The Independent. And prior to that, I worked as a journalist on the People section of The Independent - writing news pieces and features about celebrities, politicians and other people of note. Prior to that I wrote for VICE, New Statesman, BuzzFeed, The Guardian, Dazed & Confused, i-D, and other publications on a freelance basis. I wrote about social affairs, politics, arts, food, youth culture and more.
