I was a staff-level PM responsible for identifying health content across Facebook and Instagram using ML classifiers and measuring health content quality. Our team’s classifiers power use cases such as feed ranking changes and applying UI treatments to empower people with high quality health content. My work involves:• Defining and operationalizing key metrics to measure the effectiveness of the team’s health content classifiers across multiple content formats and languages. • Developing an expert- and research-informed definition of health, operationalizing the definition to train and evaluate classifiers and informing playbooks on identifying emergent health topics such as Monkeypox.• Defining key milestones for developing and deploying metrics to evaluate the quality of health content on Facebook and Instagram, incorporating new and existing signals and applying scoring and weighting formulas to create an overall score. • Managing the $M budget and prioritization for Health org labeling needs.• Implementing process changes to improve labeling quality for COVID-19 and Vaccination classifiers.

I worked on the VR Identity team and led the overhaul of the Oculus profile, replacing it with the Meta Horizon profile. I was responsible for all aspects of the social profile, including: • Representation: Determining which elements of identity are used to represent yourself in VR (e.g. display name, unique username, profile picture, avatar) and how these elements should appear across surfaces spanning the VR system, the mobile companion app, and third party integrations. • Social graph: Enabling users to make platform-level connections and updating the existing Oculus friend model to a more flexible follower model to unlock a wider set of personal and professional connection use cases. • Social settings: Revamping settings for who can see your activity and interact with you, including the option to have a private profile where follow requests must be accepted before becoming connected.• Profile setup flow: Launching user flows on VR, mobile and web platforms to help new and existing users create their Meta Horizon profile, including the option to use their existing Facebook or Instagram profile information and social connections.

I shaped and launched products aimed at increasing understanding of and control over privacy on Facebook. I led the Privacy PMM team and managed a team of 3 PMMs.• Drove end-to-end design, development and launch of Facebook’s most significant consumer-facing notices across email, feed and notifications: (1) Notified all 2B+ Facebook users following the Cambridge Analytica incident and launched a consumer tool to check if people were affected, available globally within 3 weeks. (2) Notified 50M+ accounts within 24 hours of confirming the list of people affected by the access token data breach, the largest hacking attack in Facebook’s history.• Developed, launched and measured multi-channel marketing campaigns with budgets in the tens of millions, spanning on-platform, print, podcast and out-of-home to drive brand sentiment and product adoption.• Led product positioning, in-product and external messaging, market research and and go-to-market strategy for several privacy-first product launches, including: end-to-end encrypted messages in Facebook Messenger, Off-Facebook Activity data transparency and control feature, face recognition features to help people manage their identity on Facebook, and improvements to ad settings. • Drove end-to-end design, development and launch of Privacy Basics, a major privacy consumer education product.

I made strategic recommendations regarding headcount, budget, business and litigation tactics, in the context of spinning off PayPal from eBay Inc. I defined key success metrics for the GC’s 7 legal groups, accounting for factors like operations, pending litigation and regulatory climate. I evangelized the GC’s vision for eBay Legal through org-wide communications and external presentations.

LawSpot is now part of the Community Law Centre of New Zealand. • Recruited and led a 10-person team to develop the product in 6 weeks and launch the service within 10 weeks. • Trained over 80 volunteer lawyers, who went on to publish over 1,000 answers.• Enlisted former New Zealand Attorney-General Margaret Wilson as LawSpot’s patron, assembled Board of Trustees.• Negotiated partnership contracts with law firms and community organizations and represented LawSpot at national level policy discussions on NZ’s pro bono legal sector.
