I am a recent graduate from the Faculty of Engineering, specializing in Communication and Electronics. With a strong passion for Digital IC Design, I am eager to pursue a rewarding career in this dynamic field.During my academic journey, I had the privilege of participating in the Chipions program at IEEE SSCS Alex SC. This program provided me with a solid foundation in digital design, equipping me with essential knowledge and skills in Verilog and enabling me to successfully complete several projects.To further enhance my expertise, I embarked on an enriching journey with ICpedia, where I had the opportunity to delve into the world of Place and Route (PnR). Through this experience, I gained comprehensive knowledge of the entire PnR flow, from initial floor planning to final chip finishing. Hands-on implementation of various labs and a final project allowed me to apply theoretical concepts and sharpen my practical skills in PnR. am currently seeking opportunities in Digital IC Design that will allow me to apply my knowledge and skills in a professional setting. It has been an incredible learning journey, and I am excited to share my experience with you all.During the internship, I had the opportunity to dive deep into various aspects1-VLSI, ASIC fundamental topics: This section will cover topics such as Full-custom vs. Semi-Custom design, ASIC vs. FPGA2-CMOS basics review: A review of CMOS characteristics, with a focus on inverters and power consumption.3-Introduction to PnR (Place and Route): An overview of the Place and Route process in chip design.Standard cell library/Macro views: Understanding the various file formats like .lef, .gds, .lib and the process of library characterization.4-Basics of Microfabrication: An introduction to the fundamental concepts of microfabrication techniques used in semiconductor manufacturing.5-Static Timing Analysis (STA): Learning about setup, hold, and timing paths types in STA, along with constraints and timing paths reporting.6-Logic synthesis: Understanding the process of converting RTL designs into gate-level representations.7-Design for Testability (DFT): Introduction to DFT techniques used to enhance the testability of integrated circuits.8-Low power techniques: Exploring various low power design techniques, including multi-voltage domains, clock gating, power gating, UPF map, and multi-Vth (threshold voltage) optimization.9-the PnR flow:Floor planning,Power planning,Placement,Clock Tree Synthesis (CTS),Routing and chip finishing and Physical verification: Conducting layout versus schematic (LVS), design rule check (DRC), v2spi, DPT (Differential Pair Test), SADP (Sub-Array Design Partition) to validate the physical design.10-Implement various Labs and final project in OpenLaneCompleting the ICpedia hybrid internship program has been a significant milestone in my journey towards becoming a skilled VLSI and ASIC design professional.Thanks ICpedia!
