I craft imaginative sequences grounded in knowledge. My energetic classes aim to build strength.As an artist and storyteller off the mat, i strongly believe that moving our bodies is essential to the creative process. I see yoga as both a form of expression, as well as a means of breaking through creative blocks. I hope to cultivate a sense of creativity and joy in every person who comes to the mat.Occasionally, I incorporate my training as a voice performer into my classes. I work in the Linklater and Lucid Body methods, which take a holistic approach to the body to free our natural voice.

I led video at The Washington Post for The Lily, where I cover critical stories about women, gender and intersectionality.In 2020, I produced “The New Normal,” a video series from The Lily and The Washington Post that helps teens and young adults tackle hard conversations about racism.In 2019, I shot, edited, co-directed and co-produced The Lily’s first 20-minute short documentary, “The Jessicas Are Turning 30.” The film is a 2019 winner of the To The Contrary on PBS Film Festival, as well as an official selection in competition of the BendFilm Festival, Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Film Festival, Cleveland International Film Festival, NewFilmmakers Los Angeles and more.In 2018, I created The Washington Post’s first video series made for the launch of IGTV, called "When Used Correctly." It was The Lily's first weekly series. I conceptualized the series, as well as led video strategy. I directed, produced, shot, hosted and edited the show. The series was a 2018 winner of Webby for Good, a program that recognizes projects built to change the world. It also was a 2018 Webby Nominee and received honors from the Society of Publication Design.In 2018, I co-directed and co-produced “Unfiltered,” a direct-to-camera video series that features seven women YouTubers as they read aloud a personal story of vulnerability their followers haven’t heard before – about grappling with online harassment, exploring their sexuality and facing the unknown. The series was an opportunity for The Post and The Lily to reach new audiences and expose our brands to the more than three million subscribers who follow these influential women. The series was a 2018 Webby Honoree and received honors from the Society of Publication Design.

I volunteer my time educating and advocating for student journalists, particularly those who identify as BIPOC. I led a year-round journalism fellowship for a cohort of more than 25 BIPOC college student journalists and mid-career mentors. I led the application review process of more than one hundred applications each year. I helped coordinate sponsorships and balanced a program budget. Each year, I planned three months of off-site programming and editorial content production. I co-led one week of on-site programming during the AAJA National Convention. I provided one-on-one mentorship to college journalism students with diverse backgrounds and experiences.

I pitched, reported, designed, and developed platform-specific visual content including motion graphics, video and photos. I led and oversaw KPCC's visual editorial strategy with the objective of serving our digital content to more people. Ensure our visual editorial content is consistent with KPCC’s overall visual brand. I analyzed metrics to evaluate the success of visual content and strategized how KPCC could reach new digital audiences through visual content. I contributed to the launch and production of KPCC’s AudioVision, a digital product focused on visual journalism and culture from Southern California.

I led and developed curriculum for a semester-long visual journalism course for journalism students. Produced lesson plans, led presentations and hands-on workshops on photo, video and social media. During this time, I completed the Poynter-Cronkite Certificate Program for Adjunct Instructors. I have guest lecturing experience at universities and journalism organizations including Cal State Fullerton’s College of Communications, Loyola Marymount University, the Asian American Journalists Association and the Online News Association.
