Strategic communications, fundraising, and government relations for collective impact organization charged with coordinating the region's response to homelessness. Responsible for creating content for web, social media, and community outreach. I collaborated with teams to develop reports, managed media relations, assisted with policy and program development, wrote grants, and published a monthly newsletter. I also worked with teams to develop fundraising campaigns and communications strategies to support those campaigns.

Managed strategic communications for sustainable land use, housing and transportation policy advocacy campaigns throughout California to help ensure equitable implementation of statewide environmental policy goals. Collaborated with state and local government officials, community-based organizations and advocacy groups to build consensus for advocacy agenda and developed messaging, communications and political strategies. Worked with team, coalition partners and consultants to develop a new strategic plan for the coalition. Planned statewide and regional meetings, trainings and convenings for network partners.

Through the Fordham Institute, I participated in a research fellowship at The Education Trust for twelve weeks, during which I collaborated with The College Board to develop a research methodology to study the effect of professional learning communities on student performance on standardized tests. I also reviewed and updated The Education Trusts' school district audit program, which focused on transcript and schedule reviews as a indicator of educational opportunity.

Through the California Healthy Cities and Communities Program, worked with local officials to address public health through city policy and land use. Supported several communities developing plans to assess walkability and bikeability, implement school and community gardens, and to address the needs of aging residents. Participated in legislative work group to advance legislation regarding public health and land use. Researched, conducted interviews and wrote articles for quarterly as well as weekly newsletters. Conducted research to inform new program development regarding aging populations and smart growth. As part of the Organizational Development Services Program, provided organizational development services to 20 nonprofit entities including research and evaluation efforts regarding nonprofit management issues.

Designed and wrote technology-based physics, chemistry, biology, earth and environmental science curriculum for K-12, managing the process from product definition to delivery in conjunction with subject matter experts and various departmental resources. Ensured curricular alignment with No Child Left Behind mandates and state science standards, developed user manuals, and delivered training to teachers using our curriculum, apparatus and software. Worked with textbook publishers to implement curriculum-based partnerships.
