Hi, I'm Mayenci, a person who chooses to honor my achievements and progress every day. I'm currently a fourth year student majoring in Public Relations at Cal State Long Beach. I had the opportunity of experiencing an internship straight out of high school at an entertainment marketing firm and was able to pursue another internship at a music studio gaining skills in the business side of the music industry. “Progress is progress” is the number one thing I would always tell myself whenever hardships arise because in the life we live, we should always be able to honor all of our accomplishments —regardless of how big or small the step is. From my years of experience, my skills range from customer service to music publishing and developing interpersonal relationships with the people I work with, to the people I talk to on the streets. These skills have allowed me to become flexible in roles that I take on and teach me how to manage real-life situations to the best of my ability. Currently, I am looking for senior-level internships to expand my experience in public relations and build a network related to the field I am studying. Developing my communication skills with professionals in the entertainment industry, curating detailed e-mails, maneuvering social media platforms and building my portfolio are goals I am working on for 2023. When I'm not working on skills to better a professional career for myself, I indulge in the creative side of myself. This includes skills in music production, songwriting, writing, singing and rollerskating which help me delay the effects of instant gratification that dominates this generation. With the creative hobbies I've picked up over the years, I have developed self-control and found healthy outlets to release stress.
