My name is Yue Wu or Mayer to my friends. Delving into all these years as a graphic designer and amateur photographer, I have formed a distinct principal of design and also strengthened my hands-on skills substantially through various assignments and projects.Initially, I have to say that my career path began with my stay at Beijing Art & Design Institute, where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design. Here, not only have I grasped countless designing theories and principals, but also I did apply the software I learned in class to solve practical problems during the summers. All the projects I participated in those years made me fulfilling and gained me a sense of self-enhancement upon graduation.Later, I enjoyed two years’ full-time designing work with my colleagues in Beijing, taking charge of online game flyer, poster, sticker, as well as UI design. However, as a young man not satisfying with his previous achievements, I decided to venture out to study abroad for self-improvement. Thus, I got the opportunity to attend Valparaiso University, beginning with language and foundation program between August 2008 and December 2009, and then by taking abundant professional courses I graduated in June 2012 with a Master’s degree in Digital Media. During four years’ study at Valparaiso, I was selected to work at Office of Integrated Marketing & Communications and the Confucius Institute of Valparaiso University, helping with numerous design works and editing, which proved to absolutely valuable to the whole marketing process. After graduation, I moved to Los Angeles, and worked freelancing since August 2012.Additionally, driven by great enthusiasm for photography, I frequently hang out with my friends and record all the awesome moments with my camera. When back home, I am fond of concentrating on editing the photos and sharing with my friends as well as blog fans who have the same interest.
