Snapshot of some responsibilities:▪ Focal point of regional key stakeholders, such as science and technology group, youth network, parliamentarian network and UN agencies to facilitate the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and projects related to disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development in the Americas and the Caribbean region, while overseeing budgetary and cost plan related to portfolio.▪ Coordinated and provided logistical support for the success of DRR Regional/Global Platforms, meetings and training with key stakeholders.Some achievements:▪ Increased 55% partnership members from private, academic and research institutions and organizations that support key DRR programming objectives in a period of 6 months in the Regional Scientific and Technical Advisory Group, ensuring collaborative work between organizations.▪ Designed and implemented a month-long youth competition that provided capacity building and training in DRR and Early Warning Systems for 50 teams (150 youth) in the Americas and the Caribbean to create simple solutions for early warning systems. The winning teams were invited to the VIII Regional Platform of DRR for the Americas and the Caribbean to present their projects to all stakeholders. This initiative involved more than 22 different organizations, including NASA, NOAA, USGS, WMO, Climate Reality Project, and other organizations at the regional level.

Managed 7 directors and supported them in successfully reaching sustainable and risk management objectives for the ministry of education.Developed hydrometeorological response plan for the education sector of the Dominican Republic and led the training of its integration with all relevant actors, while led and oversaw the implementation and deployment of personnel applying the hydrometeorological response plan during the hurricane season.Established new approaches for internal and external partnerships to push forward disaster risk awareness and sustainability with other ministries for the effective implementation of DRR within the education sector in the Dominican Republic.Created a preliminary communication system for disaster response. Built a strategic plan to promote inclusivity in schools and identify vulnerabilities in the education facilities and the marginalized communities under the disaster preparedness and response plans.Created funding opportunity with JICA to support the sustainability department to ensure that all activities and strategies of the department integrated and followed sustainable methodologies.

Designed and directed Sustainability and Resilience Program on the implementation of emergency management objectives that included the delivery of training on disaster preparedness. Established metrics and collected performance data to evaluate the Sustainability and Resilience Program and provided regular updates on the status of the program with formal evaluation and report.Coordinated a sustainability event with an engagement of 40 to 50 students, parents, and teachers and used only 6% of the established budget by fundraising local resources. Coaching several student researchers on environmental science and gender equality and mentoring a group of 13 girls in the Women’s Leadership Club on implementing sustainable outreach programming schemes through coordination with local specialists and practitioners.
