Test Development Engineer for IMS Testing Solutions (part of TT Electronics Plc's IMS branch) based in Rogerstone, Newport providing automated testing solutions to our parent company and to external companies that require comprehensive automated tests• Personal project handling, from quotation to delivery.• Working with customers to determine crucial test criteria.• Determining cost effective hardware and software solutions, whether designing hardware around embedded platforms or using commercial off the shelf.• Development of testing solutions for a wide range of industries including automotive, industrial, medical and consumer. • PC based test automation using National Instruments hardware and software. Certified Labview Developer (CLD) certified.• Standalone tests based around embedded systems, approximately 50% of tests currently can be produced using a microcontroller and hardware approach.• Knowledge of solution optimization based around most fundamental criteria. E.g. fast cycle time for high volume product or use of reputable gold standard equipment for tests requiring high traceability –typically medical and aerospace.• Data management from local xml or spreadsheet to cloud based SQL.• Familiarity with 2 main players in Bounday Scan Testing – JTAG Technologies and Goepel. – with capability to incorporate into testing solutions.• Experience developing applications in Python with TkInter, also combining python with bash scripts on embedded linux and SBC’s as a low cost alternative to windows PC’s and labview.• Personally interested in the field and always keen to learn new skills.• Comprehensive knowledge of industrial and automotive communication protocols. Developed and managed a project interpreting SAE J1939 for an automotive customer.
