I started in the Gas Division in October of 1991. I started as a apprentice in a 4 year training program . Formerly I was a equipment operator for a few weeks before taking the apprentice job. I progressed through the training for 4 years . After a final test and appraisal I was advanced to Gas Fitter 1/c which is fully qualified to do to Gas Distribution work . Regulation , odorization , metering , customer relations and cadd reading skills.we worked closely with engineering and were required to inspect contractors doing natural gas distribution work .i did this work until October of 2013.
