Streetworks Compliance Inspector, monitoring the compliance of those working on the highway, liaising with Streetworks & Permitting team, and responding to inquiries from Herefordshire Council and members of the public. use of professional judgement within the framework of the Safety at Streetworks and Road Works code of Practice , the specification for Reinstatement of Highways (SROH), the New Roads & Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA) and the associated requirements of the Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA) to ensure that the Council provides an effective network management service.

I manage a team of Locality Stewards, who are qualified Highways and NRSWA Inspectors, each with their own Locality. Stewards are responsible for establishing strong working relationships with stakeholders at every level, to develop a strong framework for cohesive working at a time of constrained budgets. The team also understands and prioritises the needs of the community, which combined with knowledge of the condition of the public realm, informs the service to maximise customer satisfaction and ensure effective spending of public funds. Stewards provide an important link between the Council, the service, and the community, communicating planned works and inspecting the state of the public realm.
