About Mayo Olateju

I recently completed a Master's degree in Renewable energy engineering with distinction. Previously, I worked as a piping engineer for a reputable energy company in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. During my tenure there, I was involved in the design of several offshore platforms, including the as-built design of several platforms from point cloud data. Some platforms include the OKan GGCP & PP, Funiwa PP, and others. I was also involved in one major greenfield project, the Agbami GTC FPSO, which included both the FEED and DED scopes; I'm glad to discuss my previous projects in greater detail upon request.My background in the energy industry sparked my fascination with renewable energy. Climate change-related problems presently plague the world, and there must be an immediate effort to address them. I regard myself to be one of the climate change activists working to accelerate this transformation by mid-century. I aim to combat some of the climate change issues plaguing my country and the globe. My objectives align with the Paris Agreement and sustainable development goals 7 and 13.I studied renewable energy engineering at Coventry University, Coventry, UK, to fight climate change and gained competence there. As we live in an information-driven world, I've also become interested in data science. My master's thesis utilised supervised machine learning to forecast an aerofoil's structural performance, showing that data skills are crucial to any industry today. Data and energy engineering will help me solve the mid-century global climate change dilemma. I am crafting a career not for my own benefit but for yours and the world's greater good. I've decided to assist in this endeavour in my small manner, as the world needs people to overcome energy-related obstacles.I believe that the data and energy engineering skills I've developed and continue to develop are the appropriate skill for me to contribute to this challenge. I am presently employed as a Piping Engineer by ALTEN UK, and I will be involved in multiple energy projects, including the Hinckley Point C Nuclear power plant. This plant will provide clean energy to 7% of homes in the UK, one of several similar initiatives in the country. I am an ENERGY DATA ANALYST/ENGINEER and a PIPING ENGINEER. To combat climate change, I intend to analyse and comprehend energy system data to forecast and provide accurate energy demand and supply estimates. As an Engineer or an Analyst, this is how I choose to fight climate change, and this is what I am about.
