“Karingana wa karingana” – “Once upon a time…”Born in Mozambique, where Wisdom and Tradition is passed through generations by storytelling under tree shadows. Mayra’s curiosity, drives her to travel after High School and study how people from overseas were telling their own architecture stories. Graduates in Rome at Università degli studi di Roma “La sapienza” in 2016, with a tribute thesis to honor her homeland. In this thesis, she uses her imagination and the tradition of storytelling, to produce a study for a social economic project proposal and architectonic project with executive drawings details. She worked at Mesch Architects (South African firm based in Maputo) before joining our team Studio Gemma Progettazione in 2017. Mayra is a driven passionate architect and every project design of hers contains a hidden story representing an harmonic fusion of form and function ready to be interpreted by future users.
