Here's one way I can tell my story - Spent 7yrs (5th to 12th grade) doing what my parents and the world around expected out of me. The next 5 years in an engineering college doing what the college expected and also some of what I wanted. And then after 8 months in 2 jobs, I have pursued only what I wanted for 8 years now. Here are my current interests (in no particular order) - startups, side hustles, writing, learning, dancing. (On second thought, I wrote it in decreasing order of priority, as of this writing).Within startups, I love product, growth hacks, design, marketing, ops, sales, content, and almost everything (not the fundraising part, a problem up for disruption?). But I love the summation of all these more than the individual buckets. I have tried my hands at coding. Somehow, I don't enjoy it. (I wish I did though). Have been lucky till now to be surrounded by people who can do that well. (I secretively hope no-code apps take over the world and I never have to learn to code 😉)But don't get me wrong. I love coders. I feel they have superpowers. 🦸♂️ Kidding. Not just them, I think everyone has. Yes! All of 8 Billion people. In my free time, I motivate people to drop out of the education system and buy a MacBook.I get this "only 1% done" feeling in almost everything. And strangely the denominator also keeps increasing 😂. So, it's hard to get satisfied. Have a love-hate relationship with myself. I have failed at a lot of things and the plan is to get at least a couple of things right (in a big way). Full list of failures in the experience section ⬇️ A few things worked for me. Getting into IIT. Selling a bootstrapped company to India's largest job board. Having a spouse who somehow in spite of all I take her through remains like an anchor. I worked really hard for these but mostly got lucky. Though I am still figuring out life's purpose I have set a goal - Work on ideas that shift paradigms, enjoy the journey, and invest in health & relationships. (I hate the go-with-the-flow philosophy.)Chasing a growth mindset - Think 10X, not 10% 🚀 The most common note in my "note to self" is - Never get complacent 🔥2000 character about section does not tell the full story, let's connect :)

Founder & Business HeadAmbitionbox Jan 2015 - PresentNoida, Uttar Pradesh, InStarted AmbitionBox in 2015 with the goal to help job seekers prepare for interviews. Grew from 0 to 1.5 Lakh users/month in 1.5 years and became one of the most loved platforms (or so we believed! early-stage journey requires irrational thinking :D) in interview prep in the country. In 2016, we sold the startup to Naukri.com. They believed in us and our vision to help people build happy careers. With the help of Naukri’s reach and some crazy focus by the fantastic A-team at AmbitionBox, we morphed from a small startup in an apartment to 100 employees today that serve more than 1 Crore users every month.Pivoted multiple times throughout our journey and learnt so much every time! Our vision has never changed but our mission has evolved. We want to build a complete ecosystem from the ground up to help users in making an informed choice with any career decision. At AmbitionBox, we have helped more than 2.5 Crore people since the beginning of our journey. That’s ~2% of India’s population! It still feels like day1. 😃[As Founder I handle product, design, growth hacking, operations, content, marketing, hiring, some near-death experiences and everything to keep the company floating]. -
My ⬇️List Of Failures (Reading On Mobile? Tap On It To Read) Jan 2008 - Present2008 - IITJEEFailed to secure an under 500 rank. Got 2113 rank. Failed to get a branch of my choice. Had to take Civil Engineering. 2008 - 2013 (During College)1. Neznox - Basics of stock market workshops for college students. Scaling was slow and the amount earned was paltry. Shut it down. 2. IITM Radio - A private radio/broadcasting station for college with plans to expand to every college. Randomly shut it down. 3. Placements - Couldn't get into my dream companies at that time - Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse. 2013 - 2016 (Serious Startups)1. BringLife Clinic - A chain of clinics in the sexology domain. Launched 3 clinics in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Ahmednagar. Did not enjoy work. Shut shop. 2. LemonVideos - Handpicked curated videos of Youtube - Music, Series, Movies. (Some really cool features like showing lyrics alongside the video, looping youtube videos). Got de-focused and started working on another idea. Forgot to renew the domain name. Some memories here - https://bit.ly/38V9aHl 3. Stealth mode startup - Had to shut down because AmbitionBox got acquired. 4. Make AmbitionBox self-sustaining - Couldn't. Ran out of resources. Sold the startup. 2016 - Present (Side Hustles)1. Readkeypoints - Idea was to summarize every article on the web and list only the key points. Failed.2. Numspire - An Instagram page to motivate people using numbers. https://www.instagram.com/numspire/ - Got bored. Organic growth was slow. Couldn't justify the ROI. Quit. 3. do100x.com - Thought of creating a network of like-minded people and do 100 projects. Got sidelined. Shut shop. 4. SerialEntrepreneurs.Club - A group to help serial entrepreneurs discuss ideas, network, get feedback and mentorship. Couldn't find the time to scale. Shut shop. Now focusing only and only on AmbitionBox :) 🤣Will end this with a smiley as a reminder to not take life very seriously. Honest confession - This was hard to write. -
Investment Banking AnalystJpmorgan Chase Oct 2013 - Jan 2014New York, Ny, Us- Covered European Investment Banks- Prepared news summary, updated research reports, valuation models.- Was my dream job. I considered working at an Investment Bank as some hotshot career path. I was 23, what do you expect? 🤣 - 3 months into the job I realized it was nothing how I had imagined and wouldn't fit with my long term goal of starting a company.- Funny story: I resigned after 3 months. Got scared. Took back my resignation. Then resigned again in a week. - So in total 4 months with 1 month of notice period. (Could apply in the Guinness Book of World Records as the shortest stint at a dream job?) -
