At NomadGao, we are trying to change the way people work, travel, and live. We run a network of coworking/coliving spaces in scenic Goa and Himachal where we cater to digital nomads, freelancers, startups, and remote teams.

We started Remote Explorers to make India popular among digital nomads and remote workers. We have run retreats for people working remotely in the Indian Himalayas and at the coast where we take care of everything from setting up a coworking space to conducting weekend excursions.

At Outpost, a coworking coliving startup based in SE Asia, I advised the leadership team on various strategically important projects spanning the areas of finance, business development, marketing communications, data analysis, human resources, industry research, market research, and partnerships. I was able to leverage on my depth in finance, passion for remote work, and cross-functional expertise to be the go-to guy for this awesome early-stage startup driving the future of work.

Remote

As a manager of the investment research team, I built and led remote teams of financial analysts who wrote investment research pieces on various asset classes, industries, and economies with a strong focus on the American Market. The investment analysts covered companies in different industries including industrials, airlines, aerospace, defense, automobiles, railroads etc. My responsibilities included hiring and coaching new analysts (remotely), aiding analysts in research and writing, reviewing analysts’ work, ensure proper execution, designing content strategy, and assessing the performance of the team members.

Location Independant

I handled coal, power, and renewables portfolio at Market Realist as a senior financial analyst. My research articles generated around 1.2 million pageviews during the period. I was successful in predicting order and timing of bankruptcies of American coal companies almost a year in advance. I also predicted brewing troubles at the then-largest solar power company in the world when the stock was still rising. As a regular feature, I published my analysis on quarterly earnings of the companies in my portfolio to help investors make informed decisions. Building financial models, performing financial and business analysis, publishing research articles and reports, keeping track of the news, covering news and updates in a timely manner were some of the key responsibilities of the role.

I was a part of the team which handled internal credit rating process for leasing arm of a large American commercial bank. The client had outsourced the process for the first time. As a result, the team was required to put in extra efforts to understand the processes and practices of the client. Along with managing the internal credit rating process for over 60 companies across industries, I actively participated in process improvement initiatives. Apart from managing my work, I also mentored junior analysts.

I was a part of CRISIL’s large corporate team. I managed complete credit rating lifecycle (data collection, financial modeling, financial and business analysis, due diligence, report writing etc.) for over 50 Indian companies across power, steel, engineering, textile, and other sectors. The role also involved maintaining ongoing relationships with clients, bankers, investors, and other stakeholders for the rating surveillance purpose. I also contributed towards media pieces on micro and macro-economic trends published by CRISIL. The role involved extensive client engagement, financial and business analysis, as well as report writing.

I developed content and other resources for Mindworkzz – an online test preparation startup. I also taught data interpretation and logical reasoning to MBA aspirants.

At Trikon, I made sure that servers ran smoothly and customers remained happy. I also researched open-source technologies to help the management improve our product offerings.
