Working on the wellhead protection area of the production wells using Analytical Solution Method (ASM) as well as Analytical Element Method (AEM, using GFLOW).* Applied analytical element method with GFLOW for Well Head Protection Area evaluations.* Utilized MODFLOW 6 and MODPATH 7 for transient/steady flow simulations around pumping wells. * Assessed wells’ capture zones and assess the Well Head Protection Areas (WHPA). * Reviewed reports on the effect of mining activities and dewatering impacts.* Developed groundwater model layer settings using Model-Muse.

Sep 2020 - Oct 2023

Research Associate

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada

Working on watershed-scale surface water modelling.* Analyzed spatial and temporal distribution of groundwater-surface water interactions; findings relevant to Great Lakes Basin.* Utilized MESH Hydrological Model, processed on Compute Canada. * Prepared NetCDF climate data for diverse climate scenarios.* Calibrated groundwater model using PEST and OSTRICH software.

Nov 2020 - Oct 2023

Research Associate

Waterloo, Ontario

I am now working in both Biogeochemistry Research Group and Hydrometheorology Research Group. The project I am starting to work in is Agricultural Water Future in Canada.* Created a module assessing nutrient transport through surface and tile flow from the edge of agricultural fields. * Simulated different hydrological components in a cold region using Cold Region Hydrological Model (CRHM). * Measured tile flow using velocity meter and transducer.* Developed a code to calculated total dissolved phosphor transported by the tile flow in a defined time interval using relationship between flow rate and dissolved concentrations.* Developed a C4 photosynthesis code (in R) and evaluated the water use efficiency of two selected crops, maize and alfalfa, in farm scale.

Reaseach Assistant

Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Assessed the effect of open pit mining on surface water-groundwater interaction in Old Sand area, Alberta. Using PRMS and GSFLOW surface flow and shallow groundwater were simulated and the effect of surface disturbance and change in land use on water flow in the mining areas were evaluated.

Visiting Researcher

Wetlands Hydrology Research Group, Department Of Geography And Environment

In University of Waterloo I was working on assessment of vertical percolation rates from the saturated surface layers to the fractures bedrock. I derived an analytical solution in them the thickness of one layer in the system was radially changed. Also I simulated the unsaturated flow in local and regional scales for a mine dewatering site by using HYDRUS3D.* Evaluated impact of mine dewatering on the surrounding environment and surface-groundwater interactions using variably saturated flow simulation.* Employed HYDRUS-3D to simulate flow in variably saturated layers around an open pit mine. * Measured the water level in peat layer and fine-grained marine sediment below the peat layer using multi-level observation well. * Assessed the barrier effect of the fine-grained marine sediment below the peat layers, for different bedrock layer saturations. * Assessed vertical hydraulic conductivity profile in peat layers by numerical groundwater simulation utilizing MODFLOW.
