Reporting to the CIO.• Create a technology roadmap by identifying essential technological components that our customers must grasp.• Develop an R&D road plan in collaboration with the CEO and the commercial team to ensure that they stay at the forefront of the industry.• Implement design best practices and tools (hardware and software) to support rapid, flexible, and high-quality R&D execution.• Makes technological and design decisions to ensure that consumers get best-in-class goods with optimum value and quality.• Oversee the execution of R&D project management to assure the quality and timely delivery of new products.• Be "hands-on" and assume responsibility for certain R&D activities in hardware electronics.• Manage the IP portfolio by developing and executing a patent strategy that meets the demands of the company.• Regularly monitor the technology ecosystem by getting up to date on technological advances in their area, including doing technical due diligence on possible acquisition candidates where necessary.• Lead the R&D and technology team to guarantee that the company is always in a position to execute its R&D strategy with the best team on board. Identify talent shortages, create strategies to fill them, and push external recruitments to bring in new capabilities as needed.
