This is what people do right?Anyways,I’m Mazin Abubacker, a UI/UX designer born in Kerala, brought up in Saudi Arabia and now residing in Dubai. I like all things design. Talking, learning and unlearning things about it. I also love to eat good food. Currently, I’m looking for a UI/UX Designer role in Dubai. I have 5+ years working as a UI/UX Designer for projects from all over the Middle East and India. I have expertise in crafting web and app designs in Healthcare, E-commerce, Education industry etc.I was the first UI/UX Designer hired in my present company and was the first one to make the transition from doing UI designs in Photoshop (yup, that’s a thing) to Adobe Xd. Streamlining the design process and making developer handoffs easier. Simpler times.Later on, junior UI designers and UX designers were hired and the team grew.Since then,• I had to lead the team of designers, break down their works into chunks and do technical design hands-on too at the same time• I’ve designed E-commerce websites and simplified their checkout processes and made them more usable, enjoyable and useful. • I redesigned a healthcare booking app (among other mobile apps) without making “login” compulsory in order to increase the downloads of the app and eventually increase in appointment booking.• The landing pages I designed brought about 4000-17000 potential leads with at least >2.4% conversion rate in a short span. • I’ve created brands from the ground up along with their web user interfaces and have helped increase brand recognition by multiple-folds. I’m pretty much equipped with the knowledge of:• Figma• Adobe Xd• Adobe Photoshop• User Research• Creating User Personas• Creating IAs, sitemaps etc.• Wireframing• Prototyping• User interaction DesignI read a book here and there. Not an avid reader. I do believe the greatest strength a designer should have is being well-read. Oh did I also tell you I’m an Electrical Engineer by “degree”? That’s what passion does to you. It takes you places.
