Marion (also called Maz) began her career as a Regional Representative for the Sierra Club, where she learned the power of grassroots organizing. Ten years later, she started her own business, Trieste Associates, Inc. Maz successfully ran Trieste Associates for 15 years, focusing on public outreach for utility scale renewable energy projects. Maz provided leadership and advice to developers in the renewable energy business, highlighting the importance of early and meaningful community involvement plans to form the partnerships needed for successful projects.Maz and her team of public outreach specialists developed the Trieste Model TM, a proven strategic grassroots organizing tool that has been used successfully by commercial wind farm and solar developers throughout the United States. Formerly, President and Co-Founder of Red Feather Green Energy Development, Inc. Maz helped build the company using her business experience and oversee the development partnerships necessary for successful projects in the US Caribbean territories where the cost of energy is amongst the highest in the world. Pollution in the atmosphere continues to deeply impact the Caribbean islands. Rising ocean temperatures are already causing extreme weather and stronger hurricanes, as well as stressing sensitive eco-systems, especially coral reefs. She continues providing public outreach strategies to clients throughout the Caribbean and mainland USA at her company, Trieste Associates.
