I am a Catholic priest, ordained in Rome in 1988, formed in the Pontifical Major Roman Seminary, which I entered after elementary and secondary education in St. George's English School, Rome. I have held various positions of responsibility throughout my priestly life related to parish ministry, family ministry, ecumenism and interreligious dialogue. I am currently Secretary General of the Commission of the Bishops' Conferences of the European Union (COMECE), with headquarters in Brussels (Belgium), which is an official representation of the Catholic Church, created in 1980 with the mission of monitoring European policies and maintaining a dialogue with the European institutions.I have been Director of the Secretariat for Interconfessional Relations of the Spanish Bishops’ Conference (until 2011) and parish priest in Madrid (from 1998 to 2019). I am Doctor in Dogmatic Theology by the Pontifical Gregorian University of Rome (1989), being my research areas philosophical and theological anthropology, subjects I have taught in various Institutes. I am also a European Psychologist Specialist in Psychotherapy. I have a degree in Psychology with a clinical specialty and a Master's degree in Individual and Group Psychotherapy. I have been a member of the Official School of Psychologists of Madrid since 1998. I also have training as a coach, recognized by the International Coach Federation. I have training in several psychological intervention techniques that I use, such as EMDR, cognitive, behavioural, dynamic, gestalt and couple psychotherapy, and in Mindfulness, evaluation and treatment of grief, intervention in catastrophes and emergencies ...My passion is the human being and its full development in all its dimensions. I have a special predilection for people who seek God, perhaps unknowingly, those who are attracted to the religious and the spiritual aspects of existence but who also have fears about it and do not identify themselves with any religious institution. This predilection led me to create years ago a successful blog called «Patio de los Gentiles», as a virtual space to approach the «Unknown God». It also motivates my exercise of psychotherapy that takes very seriously into account the innate search for meaning present in every human being.
