Responsible for reviewing drawings, specifications and cost control data to determine material, sub-contract and labour requirements for the manufacture of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium metalwork. Plus, co-ordinate the day to day running of an active estimating department consisting of estimators and junior estimators.

Managed a busy projects department, dealing with clients directly for the entire project lifecycle. Duties include managing First Contact, Bid Evaluation / Bid procedures, Contract Review, Quality, Safety, Progress Monitoring, Technical / Project control requirements, producing project documentation, i.e. Quality Plans, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Scheduling, Critical Path Networks / Programmes, Job Cards, Work Procedures, Change Control, Cost Control, Progress Reporting and Final account. Whilst identifying the necessary resources both internally and externally for ensuring that the regulations, requirements and all safety policies are maintained and monitored throughout the currency of all projects and ensuring all projects are completed satisfactorily on time and within restraints of the respective budgets.

Managing various projects with a customer portfolio up to GBP 5 million, maintaining respective roles and responsibilities as the customer focal point, working with the client, identifying the necessary resources both internally and externally, producing detailed project plans/programs, schedules and implementing change control, throughout the project's milestones to completion and release. Plus as required, preparation of technical bids and quotations, estimating structural or Piping projects via a schedule of rates or as a project specific tender. As required liaise at all levels from shop floor to board/client level for the good of any given project lifecycle.

Responsible for maintaining a busy purchasing department for all the company’s procurement and purchasing requirements, using knowledge, competence and experience to build a professional rapport with suppliers/sub-contractors, therefore gaining the best prices and best deliveries.

Completed a full four year apprenticeship whilst working on sites and in the workshop using mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium disciplines.
