Engineering lead that designed and implemented a full stack advertising platform that incorporates TV viewership data to allow targeting of mobile audience TV behaviors. Built a proprietary audio automated content recognition algorithm to allow identification of TV content via audio signatures. Audio ACR algorithm processed 200 channels of live TV to detect commercials. Implemented an ad serving system, which handled 1 billion+ requests per day. Implemented a data processing, analytics and reporting system to find key insights in user behaviors around TV consumption habits and their effect on ad engagement and brand key performance indicators.

One of four core engineers who in two years, implemented a massively distributed video ad network which serves billions of video advertisements per month. I implemented numerous key components including the ad server, the realtime auction market, the realtime log processing and reporting system, the ad trafficking and pacing system as well as a single-sign on system. All of this software was written in Ruby, C, PHP or Scala. I was also responsible for implementing the iAB VAST technology standard which eases integration with third party ad servers and networks.Acquired by Yahoo!, Sept 2014.

Designed and implemented an extensible network protocol construction framework. Implemented multiple core internet protocols such as OSPFv2, RIPv2, HTTP and RTSP to test vendors' implementations. Designed techniques to identify and classify security flaws found by the protocol test suites. Acquired by Spirent in 2012.

Pure R&D role: vulnerability research, reverse engineering and competitive analysis. Used tools: Ollydbg, IDA Pro, gdb, valgrind and Wireshark. Authored the ELF Compass tool to graph control flow of an ELF executable during runtime.

Designed the core algorithms for use in a network application scanning product including operating system identification and load balancer detection. Also developed the Foundstone active scripting language (FASL), an ECMAScript based language for writing vulnerability assessment scripts.Acquired by McAfee in 2004.
