I was a TPM in the Engineering Data Infrastructure during a period of scaling our products to support the hyper growth of the platform. This includes Storage, Streaming, Media Infra, and Cloud Management. The suite of projects involve working with technology that LI has open sourced or that we have built for our own use. The majority of my projects were in 1) Espresso: an online NoSQL data store 2) Nuage: a self serve platform for app teams to use as a cloud computing tool. Other technology included Kafka, Databus, Voldemort, and Helix.Major projects while in Data:- Espresso: I joined this project in the early stages when there were less than a handful of data stores in use in production. While here, I established the engagement model of how we worked with applications and managed these projects so that Espresso had dozens of data stores in a few years.- LinkedIn Profile: storage systems of all member profiles.- InMail/Messaging: storing messages for all members.- Targeted Sponsored Ad Content systems which improved revenue generation.- Expanding our data infra to multiple data centers, to enable data replication and an active/active setup.- Hadoop 2.0 roll out and migration.

Nor1 delivers pricing and merchandising solutions to maximize RevPAR (Revenue per available room) for hotels and resorts worldwide such as Hilton, Hyatt, InterContinental, and Carlson hotels. Nor1's revenue enhancement tools are developed with data, providing consumers with targeted offers.• Managed the release to production weekly or as needed with coordinated efforts with DevOps, Engineering, and Product. Ensured releases had met both the agile definition of done criteria and technical components to be successful. Technical components included the applications to deploy, code changes, config files, and database changes. • Adapted agile methods to be customized for Engineering using Kanban and Scrum principles to develop new projects.• Agile lead of several of engineering projects and performing roles such as release planning, kanban working style, and estimating techniques to build PHP based applications.• Introduced or redefined tools to the Tech team to maximize its use for productivity including Atlassian tools, Google Apps, and Google Sites.

Worked closely with architects, product managers, VP's, and 10-20 agile teams to bring new products to market.• Spearheaded the efforts for our scrum adoption and agile practices. Our product was live in 80 countries, 20 languages, and multiple currencies.Major accomplishments include:• Implemented the initiative to automate product and pricing data loads, improve data quality, and limit manual efforts that resolved data inconsistency and late updates.• Headed up efforts of IT simplification by developing plans of reducing server count, moving to shared services, or consolidation to reduce infrastructure and support costs.• Reduced our localization costs by combining translation efforts across a suite of sites, reusing translation, and streamlining our efforts. This resulted in significant cost savings.
