Senior Vice President Sales at PortingXS: Number Portability, Number Management and Professional Services

For the PortingXS customers it is my (and my teams) responsibility to manage the national and international accounts/sales and translate the customers’ demands towards the internal organization. Next to this it is our goal to meet the long term company target to be active with our services in 25 countries by the year 2020. Recently I have celebrated my 15th anniversary with PortingXS. I joined PortingXS soon after the start up and in these days PortingXS was a rather small and local company, providing number portability services to only a few Dutch customers. In those days, the company existed of a handful of students on our desk, our former CEO Ronald Vlasman and me. In the first few years of my career with PortingXS I managed the desk, acted as account manager for our existing customers and as sales manager for our potential customers. Luckily we were able to grow rapidly, not only in customers but also in staff. This meant responsibilities and roles could be divided among more persons than only myself.Customers like Casema and Orange joined our platform, but also Tele2 and KPN grew in volume. In this period, my role more and more turned into the role of project- / implementation- manager. Currently we are a trustworthy partner for portability services, not only in The Netherlands but also in other jurisdictions. At this moment, approximately 80% of the Dutch operators have chosen to access the centralized databases via services and tooling of PortingXS (including the Dutch incumbent KPN). We also provide our services in other Jurisdictions: Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man, Kenya, Ghana, Gibraltar, Panama, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Bahama’s, Trinidad and Tobago and Bahrain, Tunisia, Senegal, Ireland and soon to be followed by Namibia and Nigeria.2002-2004 External BPO manager2004-2006 Sales / manager support desk / 2006-2013 Senior Project Manager / Implementations manager2013-2016 Manager PortingXS The Netherlands2016-now Area Director

Studentalent, a job employment agency for students decided in 2001 to open an establishment in Rotterdam The Netherlands. When opening a new establishment the databases with students are empty as well as the databases with possible jobs for these students. With a team of three it was our goal to set up the Rotterdam establishment, my job was to find local companies with jobs for students in the Rotterdam area. The success of a job employment agency is measured in the amount of hours worked in a week, when I left Studentalent the weekly hours were above management expectations.

New parents receive a box with goodies and advertisement for their new situation, new pet owners can get such a box for their kitten or puppy, and also for newlyweds a box exists.Not for expatriates relocating to the Netherlands for their job. For this target group I founded Expat Services. I created a box with relevant content and goodies of sponsors and on the other hand I found an outlet channel via embassies, corporate companies and organisations. After setting up the company I sold the concept to a magazine specialised in the expatriate market.

Within the Dutch law employers are able to provide a personal computer to its personnel. The benefit for the personnel is that the personal computer is paid before income taxes are paid by the employer. A great opportunity for the personnel to acquire a PC in a cheaper way. With Time computers (branded as Collosus Computers in The Netherlands) it was my job to find B2B customers and make them a tailored assortment for their personnel. Unfortunate the company decided to stop their business in The Netherlands in 2000.
